- For the last four years I have been doing mergers and acquisitions work, a field I got into after I sold my software business in 2003. Often people use "rules of thumb" that don't make sense in the real world. In this blog I'll try to explain what makes sense in the real world and what does not. I received my MBA from The University of Michigan in 1990 and a B.S. from Cornell University in January 1987.
